New Faculty Training: College of Teacher Education and Leadership

Fletcher Library

Ann Ewbank, Education Liaison Librarian

1)       Overview of the Library Liaison Program

a.       Library Instruction-

I am available to teach students how to loacte, access, and evaluate information using the library's resources. Library instruction is integrated into your course assignments. I generally do not recommend library instruction during the first week of classes, nor do I recommend library "trainings" that are not integrated into the course content. Schedule a class time with me through email or phone. (Note: my calendar fills up quickly so book early!)

b.      Student research consults-

Students can call or email me with reference questions, assistance with APA style, help brainstorming keywords for searches. I also schedule in-depth research consults in person by appointment. If you feel a student needs additional assistance you can refer him/her to me. Please include my contact information in your BlackBoard Course Shell.

c.       Faculty assistance (research requests, syllabus development, etc.)-

I can assist you with literature searches, compiling an optional reading list, connecting you with guest speakers, finding resources at the Arizona Department of Education, etc. If you need assistance with your courses or research please contact me.

Any article that is owned in paper or microform at any of the other ASU Libraries can be requested through ILLiad . The article will be digitally delivered to you. Use ILLiad for interlibrary loan of books and journal articles that ASU does not own. *Use ILLiad for delivery of ERIC documents only available on microfiche (1992-earlier). ERIC microfiche is located at Hayden Library. Most will be digitally delivered unless they are very large. In this case, you may receive a microfiche copy of the document.
